The MindWave we have is the oldest model of the sensor that uses a proprietary RF connection for sending the data. This means that you need to use the USB dongle that comes with the sensor to connect it to your computer (also make sure you don’t lose it.
The newer models use Bluetooth and could be connected to mobile devices also.
How To Use (Mac OS)
- Follow these instructions to download and install the drivers and the MindWave Manager
- The easiest way to get access to the data in your projects is to use BrainWaveOSC, a tool that sends all the data from the sensor as OSC messages that you can use in your code (Processing, openFrameworks, PD, Max/MSP, Quartz Composer, Vuo etc.)
